Project Updates

  • Mar 2015

    • Our latest project is getting underway at the Kajwenge Primary School in Luhwahwa Village located in Western Uganda. There are existing toilets that have been left in disrepair and are in unusable condition. The Donation Team for this project will be funding the construction of a new toilet facility and a hand washing station. Collaborating with Luhwahwa Youth Development Foundation (LUYODEFO), this local NGO has been doing positive community work in this region since 2000. The new facilities will be serving over 400 students and LUYODEFO will be incorporating an education component to this project to help foster good hygiene and the long term health of the students.

  • Apr 2015

    • The ground team at the Kajwenge Primary School wasted no time in getting work started for the new toilet and hand washing station. A ten foot hole was dug out for the base septic tank and all the brick work has been built up. Through a combination of local community support and hired labor, the first stage is complete and construction is scheduled to move forward toward completion before the rainy season gets underway in the region.

  • May 2015

    • The new toilet facility is nearly complete on the Kajwenge Sanitation project in Uganda. Local workers have put in a lot of work onsite to get the new structure built to this stage. The last phase will include the installation of a water storage tank and building of a hand washing station to go along with the facility.

  • Aug 2015

    • The new toilet facility and hand washing station in the village of Luhwahwa is finished and already in use. The last phase of the project included the installation of a gravity fed water tank and a mural competition was held to design artwork for the exterior of the building. This project will serve over 400 students at the school. Many thanks to our donor team for funding this project and to Luhwahwa Youth Development Foundation in Uganda for managing the project.
