We are excited to announce the date for our 2nd Annual Community Event. Our event will be held on Wednesday, September 29th, 2010 at 7:00pm.

The event is an opportunity to share conversations, pictures and stories about what we’ve done in 2010 and where we’re going in 2011.

The final completion of the well will bring a much needed supply of clean drinking water to the community.

A few images from our project in Zambia. Due to the rainy season, we have been unable to start the digging of the well, but now that things are dry again, digging should get started in a few weeks.

The well will be dug outside of a classroom (image below) and provide clean water for the students. The well technician will be heading out to Chisoyo and as the digging starts, we’ll be able to provide some new images.

Joe Gonzalez, one of the founders of The Project Solution, was featured in this article. This was in the New Amsterdam News, a local paper in the Harlem neighborhood in New York City. The article was focused on his work with the local community but included some coverage about The Project Solution!

We collected a box full of clothes for children and shipped them off to Cameroon.  Everything arrived safely and will be distributed to the kids who most need it.

Many thanks to all the families who dug through the closets and found a bunch of clothing to donate to the cause.

We sent four disposable cameras out to Cameroon and had some of the local children take them around to take pictures of their community.  The cameras came back and we received some great images.  Here are a few to take a look at.

We might consider doing something with them as the 2010 year comes to an end.  Check back with us to see what’s next.

Poet Jonathan Walton performed his poem, “Here and Somewhere Else” at our launch event.  We’re proud to have the opportunity to share the poem with everyone.

We sent some disposible cameras along with some US volunteers headed for Cameroon.  Our instructions for the students were to take some images of where they live: people, landscapes, everyday life.  We look forward to seeing what comes back and we will share those images with students in New York.
