In addition to putting a roof over the classroom and the kitchen area at the Foyer d’Orelph project in Haiti, we are also addressing much needed drainage issues. The heavy rains bring standing and backed up water due to poor drainage and floors that are not properly finished. The latest development in Haiti is a concrete project over a large floor area to address this issue. The EDV team tells us:
“Between the roofs you’ve funded and the drainage system, there is now no standing water at the orphanage when it rains – a great step in preventing cholera and other water borne illnesses.”
Our donation team for this project has helped make a big difference to the children at the orphanage and the students who will be attending the school.
