The Solution
Local NGO, Haritika has already created a well for the water and our funding includes the purchase and installation of solar panels to power a water pump for bringing up the water and distributing it into the homes of the locals.

Work will soon be underway for our ninth project, in another collaboration with the NGO Haritika. In many rural villages throughout India, having easy access to clean water can sometimes be difficult. Haritika provides water solutions to many villages through irrigation, dam and well projects. In the village of Mangraul, over five hundred residents have to travel to get access to water. Haritika has already created a well for the water, and our funding will allow the addition of solar panels to power a water pump for bringing up the water and distributing it into the homes of the locals. The image shown here is an example of a larger solar station that Haritika is using to bring in water for other villages.

Our Solar Panels have been installed in the village of Sagunia located in India. The team from Haritika have been busy collaborating with the local community and installing the new panels.
-
Once everything is completely online, the panels will be running a pump to bring up water and distribute it into the homes of the local villagers.

Now that the solar panels are up, electricity is being generated to run the water pump and deliver water directly into the homes of local villagers. One of the best parts of this project is that it is delivering water to the individual homes and not just to the village.
-
We all think of the simplicity of having water available at the sink in our house, but for many people it involves walking somewhere to access it.
