    • The filter systems are built using layered sand, gravel and charcoal in order to filter out impurities from stream or rain water. Essentially, this is a simplified version of what our planet does naturally to recharge deep aquifers and well water! The team members of El Porvenir work with the families to provide education on the use and maintenance of the system, in order to ensure they will continue to have clean water in their homes.
