The Solution

The local nonprofit, Social Action for Value Education (SAVE) Trust, will be installing water purification systems to provide clean water to 10 local schools.

Project Updates

  • Nov 2019

    • SAVE Trust staff tests water quality at one of the government schools where a new water purification system will be installed.

  • Mar 2020

    • A series of new water filtration systems have been installed in local boys and girls government schools in Chennai. The new units are already in use, providing safe, clean water to both students and staff.

  • Mar 2021

    • Due to COVID-19, all of the government schools in India had been closed and students remained at home. After opening up again, the next phase of the project has been completed. Five Water Purifiers have been installed in three schools of North Chennai. Collectively these are serving over 1000 students and faculty.
